INSTRUCTIONS FOR CLEANING PERFLEX DE FILTERS

Bumping
1. Look at pressure gauge and note the reading.
2. Shut off motor. Wait 60 seconds.
3. Gently, move bump handle down, then up until it's free.
4. Bump filter 5-6 times. Down easy, up hard.
5. Turn on motor and note pressure reading once again.
NOTE: If pressure rises 5-7lbs. in 24 hours after bumping, change DE.

Changing DE
1. Follow steps 1-4 from above.
2. Unscrew air valve located on top of filter.
3. Open valve located on bottom of filter tank; bump filter while water is draining.
4. When water stops running out of valve, turn on motor for 5 seconds.
5. Let water drain, turn back on for 5 seconds, flush sediment form bottom of tank.
6. Shut off motor, close bottom drain and air valves.
7. Turn on motor for 15 seconds.
8. Shut off motor, bump filter, repeat steps 2-7 for 3 more times.
9. Screw air valve and bottom drain valve clockwise to close.
10. Turn on motor, add **DE IMMEDIATELY to skimmer. ** Never operate filter without Diatomaceous Earth in it.

Preventative Recommendations
1. When water is clear, change DE every 3-4 weeks.
2. When water is cloudy or green, change DE every morning and evening.

FYI'S
1. Pool water clarity, from any condition, should improve in 3 days.
2. If you are adding water to the pool once a week, you have a leak.
