POOL WINTERIZING and ADDITIONAL SERVICES

WINTERIZING INCLUDES:

5 gallons liquid chlorine, 1quart winter algaecide concentrate.
Safety check on tripping hazards around pool - skimmer lids, fill spouts, winter cover, etc...
Visual inspection of: electrical wires for hazards, heater for hot spots, signs of wear, improper installation, correct operation & motor for evident bearing noise.
Water testing & balancing: Compute pool capacity and perform water test, includes 6 essential tests for proper winter balancing & if necessary, appropriate balancing chemicals will be added (BALANCING CHEMICALS ARE ADDITIONAL).
Inspect all interiors for worn/defective gaskets & check all equipment & pipes for proper seal. (Any worn parts will be replaced and charged to customer's credit card on file). Unless otherwise noted.
Cover pool, checking for proper fit, holes, etc., and secure cover at perimeter, fill water tubes (if applicable). Any leaking water tubes will be replaced unless otherwise noted.
Winterize all under and above ground pool pipes and all standard pool equipment
We will reuse your: Gizzmos, plugs, water tubes, cover, etc. if all is left out at time of pool closing. If not we will supply and bill for items that were needed.

* NOTE: We use Liquid chlorine for winterizing. Floating chlorine dispensers are not recommended in vinyl liner pools.

WINTERIZE ATTACHED SPA INCLUDES:

Drain spa, remove anti-vortex plates, remove spa jets, retainer rings, directional fittings (if applicable).
Hook up industrial blower and blow out all water from skimmer, bottom drain, spa jets, heater and air intake lines.
Winterize air blower line, add 1-gallon anti-freeze, remove plugs and/or caps from pump and/or filter system.
Remove union nuts (if applicable), remove water from bottom of spa, plug drains, shut off power, fill and cover spa (customer to provide cover).

CUSTOMER'S RESPONSIBILITY:

Designate location where to pump pool discharge water (if not obvious).
**NOTE: Pool Dr. is not responsible for damage caused by draining pool to proper level - any special conditions must be made known prior to winterization.
Leave electricity on. Leave winter cover, securing devices, plugs, gizzmos, etc., at poolside.
Solar blankets will be left on reel or rolled & tied at poolside. (Pool Dr does not clean covers).
Inform The Pool Doctor in advance about any special notes regarding your pool, i.e. Broken pipes, special storage, etc.
VACUUMING, REMOVING LEAVES, AND CLEANING POOL PRIOR TO CLOSING ARE OPTIONAL & DONE ONLY IF PREREQUESTED BY CUSTOMER WHEN RETURNING THIS CONTRACT.
Leave your chemicals at the pool side if they are to be added at the winterizing

**ITEMS NOT INCLUDED IN WINTERIZING - WILL BE CHARGED TO CREDIT CARD ON FILE:
Chemicals for water balancing, anti-freeze, replacement parts, leaf removal, vacuuming, winterizing of fountain systems, solar systems, attached or detached spas (unless noted), irrigation system, separate buildings, pool houses w/ running water, fill lines, auto fill lines, tennis courts or make up water lines, disassembly, repair & re-assembly of equipment, equipment removal, winter floaters for mesh covers (cement pools only), winter floater tablets, problems with pipe sealing and/or replacing faceplates, filter reconditioning, diving board & light removal, cleaning solar blankets or winter covers, plugs, gizzmos, under cover padding, and water tubes. Brass anchors replaced for safety cover to be installed properly. Stain and scale preventative chemicals will be added to plaster pools unless otherwise noted.

YOU HAVE A LEAK IF.....
you are adding water once a week to your pool... Call immediately for repair.
Leaking pools must be repaired before winter to prevent serious damage to the pool structure, interior, winter cover etc.
Check your pool water level monthly for leaks, even if the cover is on.

FINAL LEAF REMOVAL AND VACUUMING:

Removal of leaves and debris from pool floor before winterizing (Important to summerizing your pool with little staining).
NOTE: Minimum charge for vacuuming until September 30th, after October 1st add $25 for minimum charge

ADDITIONAL SERVICES ------------------------------------------

FILTER SERVICE- RECOMMENDED:
DE & CARTRIDGE FILTERS - RECOMMENDED: Open filter tank, remove filter elements at customer site and bring back to POOL DOCTOR (SHOP) for reconditioning. We hose off the filter element, submerge in cleaning solution, rinse and inspect the assembly. We will call you if we find any parts that have worn and need replacement. (e.g. bump shaft, fingers, grids, o-rings etc) - these additional parts and the labor to install them, are not included in the reconditioning and will be billed to the customer's credit card on file. We will re-installed your filter at the summerization or deliver at winter watch. If you decide to summerize your own pool, the customer is responsible to pick up their pre-paid filter components at Pool Doctor Store.

SAND FILTER: (SAND SHOULD BE CHANGED EVERY 5 YEARS) Open filter tank, remove sand, inspect inside of tank, add new sand or ADD $100 FOR “ZEO-LITE FILTER MEDIA for better filtration, re-assemble filter. (maximum sand included is 200 Lbs.) Sand, parts or repairs is additional and will be charged to customer's credit card on file. (Sand should be changed every 5 years)

POLARIS HEAD TUNE UP:

Includes bearings, wheels, tires, belts, bag, axles, drive chassy and gears-if applicable.
Inspect Polaris for any other parts that may be worn that will affect the performance. Customer will be notified if any other parts are necessary, parts will be installed and charged to customer's credit card on file.
Test Polaris in our test pool for proper operation before returning to customer.

POLARIS HEAD REBUILD:

Includes every part except new frame, feed hose & pump.
Test Polaris in our test pool for proper operation.
Customer will be notified if any other parts are necessary, parts will be installed and charged to your credit card on file.

MOTOR SERVICE (Pool, Spa, Polaris):
Overhaul motor service will be performed and charged to customer's credit card on file over winter months at THE POOL DOCTOR SHOP. Parts included are bearings, pump housing gasket, strainer housing gasket, and pump seal. Any other parts are additional as well as the labor to install the extra parts. Testing motor for operation and proper amp draw. Motors will be delivered and re-installed at customer site when THE POOL DOCTOR summerizes your pool. If you decide to summerize your own pool, you are responsible to pick up your pre-paid overhauled motor(s) at The Pool Doctor Store.
