The Difference between Religion and Christianity

Christianity is NOT a religion. Religion is humans trying to work there way to God through good works. Christianity is God coming to men and woman through Jesus Christ, offering them a relationship with Himself.

Just because one goes to church does not make him a Christian. Does walking into a garage make you a car? Becoming a Christian involves deflating your ego and putting your total trust in Jesus. Allowing Jesus to be the Lord and Savior of your total life. Allowing Him to take control and charge of you from the inside out, and making you the type of person you were created to be. It is a life of faith based on the evidence and facts of the history of God's word written in the Bible.

When Jesus comes into your life, He enables you to cope with conflicts and puts a capacity to love and have peace within your heart. He also adds an acceptance of yourself and others, just the way they are.

The change can take place over several days, weeks, months, or even a year depending on how much of yourself you yield to Jesus for a relationship to be developed. Christianity works, it changes lives, attitudes and actions, because Jesus is in the business of Changing lives.

Christianity is also an individual choice. Only you can make that choice. It's not something that can be shoved down your throat. God gave us all the right to choose because he didn't want robots. He wants us all to love Him freely and serve Him out of Love not Fear. If you want to make the choice to change your life because it's going nowhere, to know your destiny is heaven, eternal life, and you want that peace and joy Christians seen to radiate, then say this simple prayer:

Dear Jesus: I truly need and want you in my life. I can't do it alone and it's hard. You suffered and then died on a wooden cross for me and took away my sins. Forgive me of my sins, cleanse me, come into my heart and change me. Help me be the type of person you created me to be. I will trust you to be my Lord and Savior. Please show yourself to me through people, circumstances and others that you are in my life. In Jesus name... Amen.
